In this episode of The Art Hunter, David Hunt talks to International Curator and Writer Natalie King who has worked around the world and is dedicated to helping artists.

Natalie King is a visionary and eminent Australian arts leader, cultural producer and curator with more than two decades of outstanding experience in international and Australian contemporary art and visual culture.

Natalie has more than two decades of experience and her cultural footprint has seen her develop a depth of expertise and networks in contemporary art, realising programs across Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Working across multiple domains, her skilled leadership spans the lifecycle of artistic production and management from new commissions, exhibitions, artistic partnerships, stakeholder relations, fundraising and programming.

Currently, she is an Enterprise Professor, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne and was nominated as 2018 AFR 100 Women of Influence. She curated the first solo exhibition by an Aboriginal artist at the 57th Venice Biennale 2017 with Tracey Moffatt. She is the curator of the first Pasifika, transgender and indigenous artist, Yuki Kihara for Aotearoa New Zealand at the 59th Venice Biennale 2022. In the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, King was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for “service to the contemporary visual arts”.
