Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia
1 Sep 1994 – 28 Oct 1994
Guest curator: Natalie King
Guest Curator Natalie King’s exhibition, investigated the way the MCA’s ensemble of art, architecture and installations orchestrates the visitor’s experience. Each of the artists chosen used tools of display, arrangement and presentation in order to comment on the museum’s desire to construct meaning. The frames, pedestals, vitrines, and supports that traditionally are designed to be invisible, in order to accentuate the displayed artwork were brought to centre stage: directly referenced and integral parts of the exhibited works.
